Hi Danny,
sorry for the delay i have been away for a few days. There are many things you can be doing to improve muscle, and the obvious one is the exersice that you are doing. What you need to do is help support this and this is where your diet comes in, as the right diet can help you build up muscle just as going to the gym. what you need to look at in your diet is increasing the amount of protien you take in and your complex carbs ie. brown rice, whole grain / wheat produces, potatoes, sweet potato, beans, oats, most veg and friut etc. lean red meats, chicken, fish and eggs are a good source of building muscle quickly as they boost testosterone which encourages fat loss and muscle building. Also you need to be taking in healthy fats ie. oily fish, nuts, avacodos etc.( but not to be included in every meal) The way in which you take these in is the most important part, you will benifit more if you have 4/5 small meals a day, containing protien, some complex carbs friut and veg. evening meals should contain little or no carbs as you will be less active at night and unused carbs turn to fat, also be sure to keep up your fluid intake. Be sure not to up your diet and not burn it off as increasing your diet like this will turn to fat if it is not burnt off. I hope this helps, if you would like any help on more ideas of the right things to be eating then just let me know. keep me posted...... Thanks Cassandra ![]() ![]()

Did i read that right then youve lost over 10 stone????????????? That is amazing, how different must your life be now??? My hubby had the band fitted 10 Nov 09 and is doing really well, hes lost 2 stone 3 pounds (on getting weighed mon 23/11/09) from pre op i can see him shrinking already!!
So how did you find the new experience of eating 'normally' Mark doesnt know whether he feels hungry or not or whether its just that he could eat something, for the sake of eating it, like he used to do.?? I would like to say that your weight loss is magnificent!! Well done your a credit to yourself and proves one thing that with the 'help' of the band then massive weight loss is possible. With regard to the tummy tuck its me that could do with one never mind my other half!!! Tracey |

I found it a bit strange for a few weeks after the op. I just didn't feel hungry at all. I had to keep reminding myself to have something, but with time I got used to it.
Some foods I can eat and some I can't (I still am in mourning for rare steak even after 2 years!!!!). I just have to focus on the benifits! I am half the size I used to be, dropping over 10.5st, over 22inches from my waist; I am more active whether it be going to the gym, playing squash or even road running....more importantly the confidence it has built up (I was worried about what people used to think of me, now I don't care as I am nearly normal. It's boosted me no end, I have just got a new job for a software company which I start tomorrow and I can assure you I would not have applied for it 2 years ago). I don't think of what I have done/continue to do everyday, I just think of the end goal of being normal (well I am aiming for better than normal. I want to be super-fit and well defined). ![]()

Thats brilliant that, well done on your new job, I understand the new found confidence thing as i do think people have a different opinion of 'overweight' people for what ever reason. I rekon if someone had a 'fat suit' on and went for a job and then went in 'normal' but answered all the same questions with all the same answers and had the same qualifications i would put money on it the 'normal' sized person would get it. Its the way society is. Marks doing really weel hes 3 weeks post op tomorow hes lost a total of 2 stone 5 pounds. He didnt lose anything last week and was a bit miffed but we did his measuremtns and hes lost 17 and a half inches overall so he cant complain!! Hes brought his food back twice this weekend. Both were bread??? But we had heard that people struggle with bread. It got stuck and he chuched up whilst walking through the christmas market in the middle of manchester!!!! People were looking at him in disgust but he couldnt help it, the second time he was at home so waanst in front of anyone else, But i rekon he wont be having bread again any time soon.
Well well done and keep up the good work. Il keep posting about my other half. Its nice to hear from peole that 'have been there and done that' if you know what i eman Take CAre Tracey |
